God Will Make a Way

God Will Make a Way Where There Seems to be No Way

“…I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19

He will make a way where there seems to be no way. In the toughest of situations, this seems to be God’s specialty. And aren’t you thankful?

He can make a way through the wilderness and cause streams to rise up, bringing refreshing even in the desert times.
He can split the sea, move mountains, or any barrier before us, and allow us to walk through on dry ground.

He’s the God of miracles. He never changes. For He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever.
And He fights for you today.

No matter what predicament, problem or difficulty you are facing the Lord has a way when there seems to be absolutely no solution in sight. God always provides a solution to any problem we are facing in the will of God. Let us look at the guidelines in complying with God’s will so we can experience His all sufficient grace, His enabling power and His sovereign working in our life.

Find your way

Very often, we pray for the situation to change. We wanted God to solve our problem, but we are not willing to do as God says.

A way is a connection between 2 points: Departure and destination.
A road is a connection between several points. If you are travelling on Highway 40 or any other highway rarely you take the whole length of the road so if you take Highway 20 or 40 to go to work you use a tiny bit of that road on your way to work.
A way is the connection between the place where you are and the place you want to go. It is crucial for you to understand your current situation and to have clarity about where you want to go.

A GPS is one of the most amazing and intelligent pieces of technology because it knows your exact location and as you input your goal destination will calculate the way there and it can even correct and recalculate the way in case you do a wrong turn. I still remember the amazement I had when I first used a GPS since the machine knew exactly where I was and could detect my movement on a map, I was shocked and really impressed with the possibilities.
Well the Holy Spirit is our personal life GPS. God can tell you where you are and He will show you how to get there, and yes if you get lost in the journey the Holy Spirit will tell you how to correct things and get on track. God is also able to do something that no one else can wish is to open up new ways in impossible situations.

God will make a way when there seems to be no way when we rely on the Spirit to fight our battles for us. Zechariah 4:6 says, “Not by power or by might but by My Spirit says the Lord.” Stop trying to work your own way out of your problems in your own strength. Allow the Lord’s Spirit to infuse you with His power, love and self-discipline.

What is the meaning of connect the dots? Connect the dots (also known as dot to dot or join the dots) is a form of puzzle containing a sequence of numbered dots. When a line is drawn connecting the dots the outline of an object is revealed. God is always helping people to “connect the dots” in the journey of life. The Cambridge dictionary explains “connect-the-dots” as bringing together information from different places. We need to be able to interpret so many different things in our lives and the best way to do this is with the help of the Holy Spirit.

A Way in the sea and a way in the wilderness

Isaiah 43:16-19 (ESV)16 Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters,17 who brings forth chariot and horse, army and warrior; they lie down, they cannot rise, they are extinguished, quenched like a wick:18 “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.19 Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

When it appears that we have exhausted all our resources for whatever reason, when our back appears to be against the wall, when there seems to be no way out of our situation, when we feel like we can not take another step, when we feel like we have done all we can, when it appears that all the doors and possibilities around us are no more, God is declaring that He is still able to make a way for us.

The red sea appeared to be an impossibility for God's people. It looked like a stumbling block to their promise of freedom, but it was God’s opportunity to perform a miracle for all to see, including their enemies.

God showed Israel’s enemies that He, God Almighty was not only with them, but He had already had a path prepared for them. In other words, God already had a way made for Israel’s journey to the promise land prior to their departure from Egypt. God parted the red sea!!! In other words, God made a way out of no way. Not only Israel was able to cross a new way in the sea but God prepared a way in the wilderness. God’s people travelled the way in the wilderness very fast but because of their unbelief they wandered in the wilderness for about forty years until they finally reached their destination and God was always present all the way into the promised land.

Our unknown future is always secure in the hands of the all-knowing God.

“all things work together for good” (Romans 8:28).

Our ways are often contrary to God’s ways

God makes a way when there seems to be no way when we admit that human ways are often contrary to His ways. Isaiah wrote,

Isaiah 55:8,9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

The sovereign will of God is often beyond human comprehension. Allow the Lord to work in ways that are beyond human reasoning. Trust Him to lead you in ways that may not seem to make sense at the time.

Wallace Johnson, builder of numerous Holiday Inn motels and convalescent hospitals, said, “When I was forty years old. I worked in a sawmill. One morning the boss told me. ‘You’re fired!’ Depressed and discouraged, I felt like the world had caved in on me. It was during the depression, and my wife and I greatly needed the small wages I had been earning.” When I went home, I told my wife what had happened. She asked, ‘What are you going to do now?’“ I replied, ‘I’m going to mortgage our little home, and go into the building business.’ “My first venture was the construction of two small buildings. Within five years, I was a multi-millionaire! “Today, if I could locate the man who fired me, I would sincerely thank him for what he did. At the time it happened, I didn’t understand why I was fired. Later, I saw that it was God’s unerring and wondrous plan to get me into the way of His choosing!”

Practical thoughts when you hit a dead end

  1. Is it really too late to turn around?
2 Do I need to do some personal changes?
3 You don’t need a full plan to move forward

Revelation 3:7-8 "...He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens. I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it;...."

The God we serve is a God who opens doors for us . And when He opens a door , no man can shut it.

The Lord opened the Red Sea to make His people pass through it. But He closed it when the Egyptians tried to use the way He had opened for His people . The doors that the Lord opens for us cannot be used by our enemies . The way of escape for us will become a way of destruction for our enemies .

When God opens a door for us we do not have to fear whether anybody will close the door that God has opened for us . Sometimes we live in fear of men and of the devil even after the Lord has opened a door for us . We live in constant fear and worry whether the door will be closed again by anyone and we begin to suspect everyone that they might do something harmful to us. The Lord does not want us to live in such fear and worry. He wants us to live in assurance and confidence that the door He has opened for us cannot be closed by anyone.
