Do not despise Humble beginnings!

From small beginnings come great things.

The truth of the matter is that we all need to start somewhere.

Zechariah 4:10 NLT Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” (The seven lamps represent the eyes of the LORD that search all around the world.)

God never despises the little things.

What has God called you to do? Are you in the day of small beginnings even now? The Lord is rejoicing to see the work begin and He will help you every step of the way. Don't take my word for it. Look at the Bible.

King David had a small beginning in a field tending sheep and experienced more intense warfare than you or I will probably ever witness. He had humble beginnings but a glorious end.

Job 8:7 NIV

Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be.

Job 42:12 So the LORD blessed Job's latter days more than his first.

When the boy brought his five loaves and two fish, the disciple Andrew scoffed, condescendingly patted the boy on his head and said to Jesus, “What are they among so many?” (John 6:8). In direct contrast, God did not despise the boy’s small lunch. Jesus multiplied the little so it became much.

Don’t despise the little things that you have right now. See them as your very own “five loaves and two fish” even when people around you mock and belittle you. Learn to disregard such people and lay your little before Jesus. While you and I have no power to multiply, Jesus certainly does!

So whatever you are building right now in your career, your ministry, or your business, don’t despise the day of small, humble and seemingly insignificant beginnings. Involve Jesus and allow His provision of favor, wisdom and power to multiply and grow the little things in your hands.

Proverbs 4:18 AMP But the path of the just (righteous) is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day

God will build up our character in order to keep us grounded in him.

To help us stay humble even when the small beginnings transition into great things. You can remain confident in the fact that God will bring to completion what you have started.

It’s said that, by the time a child is 7, they have already formed their inner identity… A person grows most in their life from birth to age 5… So many important things happen in the beginning, in what seems to be smallness. And it’s vital that attention is paid and time is taken to make sure growth happens at a steady, maintainable, strengthening pace. Character, strength, knowledge, wisdom are formed along the journey… you don’t receive them as a ‘first place’ prize. They are learnt and ingrained into us from the days we begin… The days where our dreams seem so far away… The days where we have no idea how we’re going to get there, but we learn to trust God and His plan and understand that there is honour in beginning something.

Great things start from a small seed.

Matthew 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

There will be times in your life when you go through a dark season where you see your dreams crumbling. During this time, quiet your heart and be still. Listen closely, and don't overlook the fact that this is when God is growing your seed that is about to blossom. From trials, you will learn how to handle the power of what's to come. Stand firm in your faith, and the Lord will anchor your soul to solid ground.
